If you want a party pit stop, then you need to pay Nha Trang a visit. Sitting just off the coast, it has a 6km stretch of lush beach lined with palm trees that you can laze on all day long, and if you want something a bit more active there are plenty of diving companies to take you out exploring the nearby islands.
For a bit of sight seeing there is the Long Son Pagoda which has free entry, this leads to a Giant Seated Buddha where you are welcomed in to pray with the locals (we pretended we knew what we were doing), also hidden away is a huge lying down Buddha. Po Nagar Cham Towers is about 2km North, only a short bike ride away which is used by Hindus, make sure you cover your knees girls, this temple is stricter than most and won’t let you in unless your modesty is hidden. Just past the Towers is Thap Ba Hot Spring, for less than £3 you can get a mud bath, rinse off in the hot spring, plunge into the waterfall, take a dip in the hot pool then dry off on a sun lounger. Can’t ask for anything more! Well, we did order a pepperoni pizza and just after discussing how much Vic hated hot pineapple, they sent us a hawaiian, so we sent it back and 2 minutes later they returned it after taking off the toppings, replacing it with pepperoni and a little scatter of cheese and also leaving a few bits of pineapple. Very nice of them!!
The best part of our stay had to be the nightlife. What started out to be a couple of drinks and returning home for an early night, turned into full blown drinking session and dancing the night away in a club. Their cocktails are lethal… and who’s silly idea was it to put very strong vodka and redbulls on the menu for less than a quid?? After Vic got her ass whipped in a few drunken games of Connect Four, we headed to Why Not? Bar where you get greeted with a shot of Daquiri… It was game over from here on. Waking up in the morning with no idea of how or when we got home and suffering with disgusting hangovers, it was a day in bed for the pair of us. We unfortunately had a not-so-lovely set of snaps on the camera to remind us of why we should never drink again, the word ‘mess’ comes to mind…
